We just finished our Memorial Day feast. Hotdogs and corn on the grill, fruit salad, and potato salad. Daniel even toasted the hotdog buns! Fruit salad tip: If your fruit isn’t perfectly ripe pour margarita mix all over the fruit salad, and let it sit in the fridge for a few hours. You will not [...]

I’ve been neglecting my sketchbook in favor of tweaking the kitchen a bit. Here’s a little before and after action. (Click photo to view larger.) I hate-hate-HATED the curvy molding above the sink, but the way our cabinets were built would make taking it down a huge pain. Instead I got a thin piece of [...]
Have you ever seen Invisible Creature’s illustrations? I wouldn’t mind having these monsters living under my bed!
I’m back from Florida! We visited the Everglades, tried alligator tail (yum) and frog legs (gag), played on the beach, and I managed to get sunburned through three coats of SPF 50. All in all it was a nice long weekend.
Father’s Day is June 20th, and Wit & Whistle cards are available here! Can you believe it’s almost June? I’m heading to Florida to spend a few days with my mom and sister. I’ll be back to the blog Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. Have a zip-a-dee-doo-dah weekend!
Our bathroom vanities are really old. 39 years old to be exact. Serve it with warm buttered toast, and it’s perfect on a rainy day. Photos and recipe by 101 Cookbooks 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil [...]
Here’s a finger-licking good rainbow chip frosting inspired outfit. I’m also getting a cotton candy vibe from this one. 1 Mock Two-Piece Cabana Dress from Old Navy 2 Colorful Medley Layered Necklace from Forever21 3 Gleeful Speed Clutch from Anthropologie 4 Kenneth Cole Sandal from Piperlime
I had never made anything with Phyllo dough before, but I found an apple dumpling recipe in the new Sweet Paul Magazine and decided to give it a try. Unfortunately the recipe wasn’t clear about how much Phyllo dough to use, or it could be that I am just a Phyllo-dough-idiot. I assumed that each [...]
Remember my plan for fixing up my husband’s home office? I finally implemented it, and I’m quite happy with the results. I intend to collect a few more illustrations to hang above my desk, and a vintage world globe I snagged for $2 on ebay is on it’s way here, but other than that it’s finished. [...]
