I’m finally getting around to arranging a photo wall (like this) down the stairway to my basement studio. I ordered black and white prints of our vacation photos in different sizes ranging from 5″ x 7″ to 11″ x 14″, but before I hang them I need to paint. I’m going to take a risk and paint the the gloomy windowless hallway a dark grey color. It seems crazy, but the white bordered black and white photos should really pop against grey walls. If it looks bad I can always repaint, right?
Here are a few of the photos I’m having printed…

Lighting is the key. A room always looks better if it’s lit correctly (just like a photograph). Candace Olsen does a great job lighting a room (or hallway).
I can’t wait to see your photo wall when you’re done!
oh! i just did something similar! while i havent put my photos up yet, i just finished painting my dark hallway a grey color but the trim and the stairs are all white and it looks GREAT! and i’m planning B&W photo with big white mattes too! i think it will be fabulous!
Fantastic photos Amanda! I think it will look great.
