Our wedding anniversary was last week, and Daniel got me the zombie print I had been wanting for so long. How romantic! I love it so much that I gave it a place of honor on the mantel.
Do you have a brick fireplace? I have such a hard time deciding what to put on our mantel, because nothing stands out against the busy brick texture. I end up rearranging every month or so. In any other house I might paint or cover them with drywall, but bare bricks suit this house best. Also the bricks are exposed on the back side of the living room and basement fireplace, and I really like having exposed brick walls in the stairwells. So, I suppose I’ll just keep rearranging the mantel until I get it right!

What a fantastic print! The whole fireplace/mantel look is awesome–it’s clean and simple but very different from what you usually see.
it is so funny! Your fireplace looks very stylish! It looks like from some design magazine.
heh, i really like the zombie poster – i would’ve never suggested something like that for a mantel, but it works. ;) our mantel right now just has photographs and assorted stuff from travels (like vases). i like the way yours is looking!
Thanks guys! I feel like it still needs something else, like a pop of color. Maybe I’ll paint the empty frame a different color next month when I rearrange again. ; )
Your mantel looks gorgeous! Agree with mnemonique, looks like a design magazine photograph.
