It’s a good idea to befriend people who bake to relieve stress, because sooner or later some tasty goodies will be coming your way! My friend Bekah relieves stress by baking, and earlier this year she had her first baby. So, she has been doing some serious baking! Bekah shared these “healthy cookies” with me, [...]

I can’t believe they make jelly shoes for grown ups! I think I might order a pair… not that I’m admitting to be a grown up or anything. 1 Ruffle-Neck Chambray Dress from Old Navy 2 Jewel Petals Flower Ring from Forever21 3 Mom’s Attic Clutch from Anthropologie 4 Hey, Jell-ousy Flat from ModCloth 5 Little [...]

While making dinner and spilling all over the stove top I noticed this happy little guy amidst my mess. It seems like he’s winking and wishing me a good weekend. Or, maybe that’s just my low blood sugar talking…

I started peeling the wallpaper off our guest bathroom walls as soon as we moved into our house. The wallpaper seemed to be original to the house (1971) and had been hung directly on bare unpainted drywall. Each piece of wallpaper that came down tore off a big chunk of dry wall with it. (That’s [...]

One can never have too many throw pillows, but Daniel (in his ignorance) thinks we reached that point a long time ago. He forbade me from getting any more pillows, but I found a loophole—pillow covers! We have lots of red pillows because I like to rotate them on the couches in the living room. [...]

I recently stumbled across Stukenborg’s prints, and I think they are ingenious. I love the intricate designs they create by running rows of dice through a letterpress. Whoa. I feel dizzy…

The pants I was wearing while replacing our ceiling fans didn’t have pockets, so I taped all the screws to my shirt so I could reach them while working. I won’t tell you where I had to put the screw driver. You know, I could really use a tool belt. Sometimes pink is so cliché, but [...]

I’m not a big fan of ceiling fans. I especially don’t like them in our basement where the ceiling is already a bit low. A few months ago there was a post on Design Sponge about ceiling fans. I scrolled through the comments to see if I was alone in my ceiling fan dislike, and [...]

I made this for some friends over the weekend, and it was gone in a matter of minutes. They practically licked the bowl! It probably would have tasted even better if my strawberries weren’t humongous mutant zombie strawberries. Next time I’m going to try it with blackberries. 1 cup sugar 1 cup water 1/4 cup [...]

I almost never tuck my shirt in, but I’m starting to think the best way to wear a skirt is to tuck a cute tank into it and put on a big chunky belt. How do you wear skirts? This skirt reminds me of broccoli, so naturally I had to pair it with some Velveeta [...]
