You might hate me for sharing this recipe. This hot fudge is so scrumptious and so easy to make that you’ll start making it daily, and after a week or two your pants won’t fit anymore. Consider yourself warned.
A friend’s mom always made this when we were kids, and I had to get the recipe. I have yet to taste the hot fudge that can top it! It’s great over ice cream, on fruit, or in a bowl by itself if you dare.
2 squares unsweetened chocolate (1 oz each)
¼ cup butter or margarine
1 cup sugar
½ cup evaporated milk
In a double boiler the melt chocolate and butter. Add the sugar and evaporated milk to double boiler. Stir and continue cooking for at least 10 minutes or until the mixture has thickened.
See? How easy is that? If you don’t own a double boiler it’s worth it to buy one if only to make this recipe!

Ho ho ho, how perfect that you posted this delectable recipe! I like to peruse eHow in my spare time, and I randomly read this: http://www.ehow.com/how_2184662_double-boiler.html (“how to make a double boiler”). Now I can put that article to use – those strawberries look amazing. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the link Tiffany! I hope you enjoy the fudge. ; )
It’s an odd thing to love, but I love double boilers. It makes all the stuff you drench over junk food. ……oh, and you know. I’m sure people use them to make veggies and such too.
I’m going to have to share this one with my mom. (The highest praise for a recipe!)
this hot fudge is perfect with your peppermint icecream!!!!! :D Best dessert EVER
Do you know if you can store this? If so, how long and under what conditions? In a jar in the fridge maybe?
I’ve stored it in the fridge for up to a week. I always eat it all within a week, so I don’t know if it would keep longer than that or not. :) It reheats great in the microwave.
THANK YOU!
