The guest room was a blank slate when we moved in. I like how the room is looking, but I still need to add something quirky to personalize it—like the poop in the bathroom or the zombies on the mantle. Oh, and can’t you hear the bed crying out for more throw pillows?

What a difference. Great job!
Definitely more throw pillows!! I love the room and want to stay there. Can I come visit just to take a nap in the guest room?
Sure, come nap anytime. ; )
I love the transformation–especially those paintings above the bed! Are those Wit & Whistle originals?
Thanks Kathleen! I did the paintings above the bed, but I don’t think I can call them originals. I needed some quick and simple artwork to take the place of a headboard, so I tried to replicate these paintings I saw on Design Sponge a few years ago. I like the originals better than my imitations, but close enough. ; )

LOVE IT! As always…
It looks great! I’m in love with that bedspread – I’ve been seeing ones like it everywhere!

I second the bedspread love! Where are you two finding these? I’ve been looking for a nice white one, and I love the texture!
Oh, and that rug is amazing. In the second “after” picture, the light makes it look navy, which would also have been cool. Maybe you could throw in some navy throw pillows?
My duvet is from West Elm:

Target has a similar one:

This one at Anthropologie is my favorite:

Beautiful! You could make that room into a bed and breakfast haha. I personally like the simplicity of it since it’s a guest bedroom.
I adore this rug!! Where might I be able to find one? Awesome paintings too! Can you make some more??
Charla – I got the rug from urbanoutfitters.com, but it doesn’t look like they have it in stock anymore. Keep checking back though, because sometimes they restock sold out items! I don’t think I’ll be making any more paintings like these, but they would be a super easy DIY project to take on! All you need is 2 big pieces of paper, some acrylic paint, and a 1″ paint brush. : )
Hi, I found your site through pineterest… I find your before and after pictures inspirational… thanks! :) Andrea
