Have a happy Halloween! We’re just having some friends over for chili and spiced cider this weekend. I wasn’t feeling inspired to do the whole costume thing this year. Are you dressing up?

I love your comments more than I love chocolate (almost).

We’re spending the weekend ‘practicing’ walking home from first grade, and freezing in the cold while we go trick-or-treating. (I’ll be getting rid of candy at midnight!)
AND, we’re going to be putting our Christmas box together to send to a child in need. Joshie loves to pick out all the items to stuff the box with.
I’ve already eaten about half of the candy we got for trick-or-treaters. Oops! We also do the Christmas boxes every year. It’s so much fun!
Hi Wit and Whistle! I LOVE the pumpkin — so much more creative and fun than just another face. This is a little off-topic, but I was wondering if you’d be willing to email me because I wanted to ask you about design school in North Carolina…. I’m looking into some different programs and I wanted to talk to someone who knows! Thanks!
what an amazing pumpkin!!!
I did indeed dress up! I painted my face like a sugar skull, and it was fantastc!
I hope you had a Happy Halloween!

Hi there – how in the world did you do that?? Love it! I’m absolutely going to try it this year for Halloween!! Thanks! Trina
I just drew the zigzag pattern on with pencil and gouged out the top layer of pumpkin flesh with a lino cutter like this:
