We watched an episode of Hoarders this past weekend in which a lady hoarded food. Most of it was long expired, and there were heaps of rotting produce in every room of her house with plenty of swarming flies. It motivated me to clean out our pantry. The worst thing I found was a box of Bisquick that expired in 2008. It was pretty anticlimactic. There weren’t even any flies.
I got some big canning jars to organize rice, brown sugar, oatmeal, etc. (They came in a box full of packing peanuts.)
Don’t tell anyone, but I think I might be a tea hoarder.

I went crazy on my pantry a few months ago when I was helping a family clean their pantry and found a pizza making kit that expired in 1998. The sauce was black and chunky. GROSS.

Your ‘before’ pantry looks better than my ‘after’ pantries.
You might try loose-leaf teas. Grab some 1 kilo packs from uptontea.com, decant small amounts into lovely glass jars. Then you can have the jars at the front of the shelf and the larger containers hidden behind (they recommend not exposing your tea to too much air or light, so this method preserves the bulk of the tea while displaying all the pretty leaves!).

This makes me want to go clean something out! Thanks. I don’t think you are a tea horder yet. Your teas are so prettily organized and neat. I have a whole cabinet dedicated to my tea addiction and it is bursting with loose leaf teas, strainers, boxes, bags, and bits of tea leaves all over the bottom.
You should also try loose leaf from the Republic of Tea (http://www.republicoftea.com/). I love their Tea of Good Tidings and Mango Ceylon. They have the Mango Ceylon in both caf and de-caf.
