Do you go through color phases? I do. Never ask what my favorite color is. It’s too confusing. In high school I wanted everything to be blue. My walls were blue, my bedding was blue, and even my wardrobe was blue. In college I was just a mess (come on, there’s only so much you can do with no money and a dorm room). In our first apartment I wanted everything to be ruby red and black. When we moved into our house I was crazy for shades of brown and brick red.
Over the past year my red craving has been diminishing. Now I’m loving gray and white, although soft chartreusey green is trying to elbow its way to the top of my list. I think I’ve been in my gray/white phase for a while, but I didn’t realize it until I looked at my Etsy favorites and noticed that things were looking awfully monochromatic. Are you plagued by fluctuating color infatuations?

Absolutely!
I go through phases like that, but they sort of build on each other. In high school I loved lime green and so when, in college, I started loving teals and shades of blue I naturally chose the ones that went well with lime. Now that I’ve moved into my first apartment, I’ve started falling in love with deep plums and wine colors. Who knows how that’ll fit in?
If you love the whites and greys you will love The Lettered Cottage. She’s amazing!

Edith – Thanks for the link! Another gorgeous blog to add to my reading list. : )
Yes! I am right there with you… in our first apartment, I was obsessed with brown and blue. Yeah, thats gone now and all I want is gray walls and white accessories.
Meanwhile, we’re picking out a color for the master bath and I’m trying to branch out. Woody says he doesn’t want to wake up to a gray bathroom. Who knows where the colors will take me next, maybe a spa green. All I can say, thank god I can always re-paint!
Ali – Our master bathroom is light gray, and I love it! It’s such a calming color. Maybe Woody could be convinced to go with a dark charcoal gray. It would be very manly. ; )
