I’ll admit that these aren’t the most exciting before and after pictures, but I spent forever working on this hallway so humor me!
Painting stained trim and doors is awful. It’s so tedious with all the sanding, taping, priming, and multiple coats of paint. Once the trim was finished I noticed that the drywall was in terrible shape, so I applied many coats of spackle to smooth things over as much as possible. Then I painted the ceiling and the walls. The builder that decided this hallway only needed a one bulb light fixture was not the brightest. (Get it, not the brightest?) Just look how dark and creepy the hallway was in the before shot! I swapped out the light fixture for track lighting with three 50 watt bulbs. Now it looks like a hallway should look, instead of like something out of a serial killer’s basement.

WOW! Amazing transformation! Seriously, I am so impressed by your “go get ‘em” attitude…you aren’t afraid of any job, are you!?
I’m terrified of tiling the bathroom floor! Hence all the procrastinating with other projects. ;)
Very nice transformation, less creepy hallway. Adding more light definitely helped.
Thanks Wendy!
Fantastic! I would feel safe walking down the “After” hallway. In fact it draws you in to see what it at the end of it. The “before” one looks spooky.
The new door knobs look great too!
Much much better than the old look, perhaps you could hang a painting or a print on the back wall?
Oh yes, great idea! Maybe I’ll hang this one there!

Wow, it looks great! Maybe you’d like to come do the hallway in my house? It’s pretty much as awful as your before picture!
Haha I hope I never have to do another hallway! It wasn’t exactly the most enjoyable process, but good luck with yours! ;)
