I planted my vegetable garden! Doesn’t our backyard look like a jungle? It took me a while to make a clearing in the weeds and underbrush, but that’s the only spot in our yard that gets a significant amount of direct sunlight. Hopefully it’s enough to produce a tomato or two! By the way, suspenders are way better at keeping my pants up than a belt. I’m sure my neighbors are thrilled that they can now drive by without getting an eyeful of butt cleavage.
Dear squirrels, rabbits, foxes, deer, birds and raccoons, don’t even think about it!

aww this makes me want a garden even more!
hehe and i like that you are warning the pesty animals in advance :) funny!
Oh, I keep my fingers crossed for each little lovely plant!
I love it. I am stuck between a Nazi homeowner’s association which bans vegetable plantings in the sunny front yard and a herd of terrorist squirrels which have eaten every tomato we have produced in the last 4 years so we are only planting basil, oregano, and thyme this year … but then next trip to the garden shop … I may try one more tomato plant .. or two.
I love these pictures! Can’t wait to get my hands dirty like that. There’s something wonderful about having dirt all over your hands at the beginning of summer
Hopefully with all the other jungle green around the varmints will leave your stuff alone. I put garlic cloves around some daylillies and it seemed to keep the rabbits at bay but I am not sure if it would help with other garden thievery.
Yay! I love seeing other people’s home grown endeavors! We are in a rent house so our tomatoes and peppers are in pots in the back yard. At first I didn’t like how it looked but now that they are getting bigger I’m excited about the yummy goodness!
I like the suspenders! I think they make more sense too.
Good luck with the garden! It looks good!
I totally need a pair of suspenders! I’ve given too many people an eyeful :) Loving your garden!
Sad this never ended up working out. I’m sure there must be some herbs or plants not requiring full sunlight.
