Twelve by 2012

Twelve by 2012

Danni over at Oh, Hello Friend issued the Twelve by 2012 challenge today—choose twelve feats to accomplish before the end of 2011, and make them public on your blog so you have to do them. I love a good to do list, so I’m joining the fun. Behold my list, in no particular order. Are you going to make one?

1. launch the Wit & Whistle e-commerce site
2. replace the caulk and re-seal the grout in the master bathroom shower  I decided not to do this one, so the new #2 is to repaint the home office!
3. finish designing my dad’s latest book
4. clean out and organize the coat closet (it’s overflowing with everything but coats)
5. add a few more art prints to the shop
6. re-paint our bedroom (the walls are supposed to be grey, but they look dirty blue instead)
7. acquire and install new toilets (a treat for our bottoms)
8. hang house numbers and bird house (that I’ve had for 2 years and still haven’t put up)
9. go on a canoeing/kayaking date with Daniel
10. finish the photo book of our 2005 Kenya trip (I’m a little behind…)
11. introduce charitable products to the shop
12. read Tolstoy’s Anna Karenina

I love how a lot of us who are participating include organizing something :) Good luck to you and I’m excited to find out what sort of charitable products you release in your shop.

Probably because once you organize something, it tends to get unorganized pretty quickly. At least that’s how it works for me! :) Good luck to you too!

  2. Sam

Lovely list! I’m so pleased to have found my way over here; your website design is just wonderful and I think I’m going to be losing half my bank balance to your shop! :)

  3. Lydia

Hi, fellow 12/2012 here. Impressive list, not the least Anna Karenina. Lots of people have a vague “read books” on their list but haven’t seen anyone so gutsy as you, naming a giant tome. All the best with all your plans, Lydia.

I finally did the caulk around our bath tub in July. It was not nearly as hard as I thought! It was a pain in the ass to remove though. After the scraper tool I bought did absolutely nothing, I researched and a good ol’ flathead screwdriver and needle nose pliers worked wonders. Then for the caulking, just the caulk gun and an old gift card for smoothing. I totally feel like a pro now ;)

Oh, thanks for the tips! I’ve been nervous about getting the old caulk out. Now I don’t have to worry. :)

  5. Rebecca

Hello to a fellow challenger (is that even the right term?)! I wanted to say hi on your lovely blog and offer my encouragement! Your 12th list item obviously caught my eye– Anna Karenina has been staring me down on my nightstand for the past 2 years. No joke. Actually, I should have put it on my own list. But best of luck and I’ll keep reading to help cheer along your progress!

  6. Helen

This is a great list! It’s a really nice mix of things. :) Good luck with Anna Karenina… I’ve never been able to get through it. I’m doing the challenge as well, and I can’t wait to get started.

  7. Roseanna

love your list, i went canoeing recently with my husband and it was amazing! good luck with your goals i am participating too, it’s high time i got organised x

We actually knocked that one off the list today at Umstead! Oooh canoeing by the light of the moon would be awesome!

  8. Danni

Love your list of 12! It’s never too late to put together a photo book. I was just cleaning out my garage (one of the things on my list) and found some old photo book’s from years ago, it was such a treat to look through old memories – it inspired me to start putting together more photo books. Really hope you accomplish your #1, your shop is quite lovely and I think your own e-commerce site would be fabulous! Thanks for participating in the project! – Danni

Love, love, love this concept. I’m hopping on over to Oh, Hello Friend and starting my own list pronto! I definitely have a couple items that NEED to be finished. Including our wedding photo album and Europe 2010 album (where to begin with 4000 photos?!).

I love your comments more than I love chocolate (almost).
