Gouache Practice #4

March 9th, 2012

gouache painting practice

I’m going to a friend’s thirtieth birthday celebration tomorrow, so I figured my weekly gouache practice was the perfect time to refine this 30th birthday card idea that has been trapped in my head. It’s my first official gouache design, and it is available in the shop. A lot of my friends have been turning 30 lately, and I have to give them a hard time for being old before it happens to me too!

  3. true dat! but the good news is that 40 is the new 30, so we get a decade of suspended age.

  7. My mom always said that her 30s were way better than her 20s. So far I agree (though I’m only 31)!

I don’t have a blog yet myself, but I look at yours regularly. You are definitely my favorite blog on the internet. I love all of your whimsical designs! So cute.

Also, you’re part of the reason I want to experiment more & more with gouache. I’ve always thought it was neat, but looking at your weekly practices makes me want to try it even more! Keep up the awesome work. You have a very big fan over here!

      Whoa, thanks Julie!

Next week is my last gouache practice post, but after that I’m going to do a post with some getting started with gouache tips (not that I’m a pro or anything after only a month of practicing, haha. :)

  9. Thirty isn’t so bad, I have found I know myself better than I ever did and that is a pretty great thing.

  14. This is so cute, Amanda!! I turn 30 this year too. How did this happen? At least my husband is…and always will be…5 years older than me. That will keep me feeling young forever!

I love your comments more than I love chocolate (almost).
