Remember last year when I was designing my dad’s latest book for my Twelve by 2012 list? Well, Help! My Daughter’s Getting Married! by John Nichols has been published and is now for sale here at barnesandnoble.com and here at amazon.com!
My dad was very involved in the wedding planning process when Daniel and I got married, and I think it was a bit traumatic for him. He wrote this snarky book to offer encouragement and wisdom to his fellow father-of-the-brides. It would make a great gift for any father-of-the-bride or father-of-the-bride to be. It would even be helpful if you’re just planning on bringing Mr. Right home to meet the parents, since the first chapter is about the importance of playing nice when you meet your daughter’s potential groom.
My goal for the book design was to achieve a “manly scrapbook” look, and I’m quite pleased with how it turned out. Graph paper, paper clips, and index cards—I’m pretty sure paper products can’t get any manlier than that!

I am not getting married anytime soon (that I’m aware of, ha), nor am I a father (or a male for that matter). However, your dad’s book looks so super hilarious, and I totally want to buy it anyway!
How fantastic! Will have to wait until my daughter’s ready to get married ;)

Love it! Love the idea, the look, everything. What a great concept.
What a great idea! And how lovely that you and your dad got to work on the project together. Dads are the best. :)
I’ve always loved graph paper, simplicity and although my daughters are all under the age of eight, I’m sure someday I share the sentiments of the title. Love this..
What a cool dad you have.
This will certainly have to be a present for my dad who will be father-of-the-bride in a few short months!
What a cute book idea AND design! My poor dad went through it THREE times – poor guy! My husband will only do it once – thank goodness! ;)
Congrats to your dad!
Congrats to your dad – this book sounds hysterical! And I love your design :)
I love that your dad is an engineer. My dad is an engineer too, and so am I, and I want my work to be lost in cyber space too!
