Fairy Tale Red

May 8th, 2012

I found my perfect shade of red lipstick—NARS’ Cruella. It’s not too bright, and it’s a bluish red so it compliments the cool undertones in my pale pink skin. When I showed Daniel he said, “Whoa, you look like someone out of a fairy tale!” Best lipstick compliment ever. Now I wear it when I want to feel a little bit magical.

  1. I love it! I have such a hard time finding the right shade (warm skin tone but most lipsticks turn pink on my lips) so I know how exciting it must be to find the perfect one! It looks beautiful on you!

Thanks Dana! You should try Sephora. They’ll let you return makeup even after you use it, so no loss if a color ends up not working.

  2. Looks great! My grandmother always wore red lipstick and I’ve been wanting to try it lately.

  3. You really do look like someone right out a fairy tale! Pretty, pretty! I have similarly pale skin… I’m always too chicken to wear such a vibrant color, but it looks wonderful on you. Maybe I’ll give it a try.

  4. I love red lips, my new it red lipstick is Elizabeth Arden’s Ultra Lipstick #1, alway with Too Faced’s Borderline…..

Great lip color. I have used pretty much the same color for years. Maybe I should try a new one just for fun. Thanks for the inspiration.

  6. Oh I love this red on you! I’ve been meaning to try and find a red just like that. I recently have tried bright orange (shocker since it’s Pantone’s color of the year, ha) and I really like it! It’s bright but I get a ton of compliments on it – I use Kate Moss’s lipcolor that she created for Rimmel. It looks crazy bright in the tube, but it looks a little more sheer on my lips. Plus it makes my blue eyes really pop – Oh the power of awesome lip color! :-)

  7. Great colour. Love the fairytale faces.

  8. Look at all the fairytales rolled into one photoshoot. I’m impressed :)

The red is gorgeous! My question actually pertains to the font you use! I loved your previous font post but would you mind giving away the name of the one you used in these photos? I love it!
