I’m wrapping up a few tea towel designs this week! I really like how they’re turning out (I’ve done my happy dance several times), and it’s so much fun to design for fabric for a change. Here are some of the original sketches I’m working from. I love drawing on graph paper. It’s reassuring to have some gridlines to start from rather than a completely blank piece of paper.

Hi Amanda, just wanted to let you know that I have nominated you for the “Very Inspiring Blogger Award”. Should you choose to accept here is the link:

Thank you so much Shirsha!
Your sketches are great. I am on the edge of my seat to see how they come together in your tea towels.
your sketches are da bomb. (yes, people still say “da bomb.”)
I like the last sketch the best!
I love these! And just like Joy, I like the last one best too – can’t wait to see the final designs! :-)
SO TRUE, for the grid VS blank paper!
Discovered your blog this week, lovin’ it! :)
Love your sketches and motifs.
You have a beautiful blog here. Love your father’s day cards: simple yet fun :)
Love the sketches! I was wondering, where do you get your sketchbooks from? Been looking for spiral notebooks with gridded paper!
For gridded paper I just use cheap spiral notebooks from the office supply aisle of Target—they aren’t really sketchbooks, well until I fill them with sketches that is. :)
This is one of my first few times over here. I just have to say – not that I don’t love statistics and graphs and blueprints (as an engineer) – but it’s refreshing to see graph paper used for something a little more… festive :)
