Summer is definitely not my favorite season, but all the sweet, ripe fruit available this time of year helps make up for it. I can’t decide which I enjoyed more—photographing these gleaming berries or gobbling up my first piece of delicious triple berry crisp. This recipe is a keeper. I’m going to munch on this all weekend, and hopefully the 100° days will be over before I know it.

1 1/2 cups fresh blackberries
1 1/2 cups fresh raspberries
1 1/2 cups fresh blueberries
4 tablespoons white sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups rolled oats
1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 cup butter (The original recipe called for another 1/2 cup, but I thought 1 cup was plenty.)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). In a large bowl, gently toss together blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, and white sugar; set aside. In a separate large bowl, combine flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Cut in butter until crumbly.
Press half of mixture in the bottom of a 9×13 inch pan. Cover with berries. Sprinkle remaining crumble mixture over the berries. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 40 minutes, or until fruit is bubbly and topping is golden brown. Serve with vanilla ice cream!

Ive been making this sort of thing myself, but in Australia, it’s Winter and is just as delicious. Your berries look amazing. I want to see an action shot of someone eating this! Something tells me it could get messy lol
Summer is my least favorite season also. I enjoy making crumble-type desserts! In fact, I just baked some zucchini crumble squares today.
I just discovered your blog Amanda, and I’m enamored. Very sweet and lovely. The berry crisp looks so yummy! The recipe looks very similar to my own crisp. I’m thinking maybe peach crisp in a few weeks!
Thank you Sharon!
This looks absolutely delicious. I have to say I’m with you on the summer thing. Mid 70′s would be perfect. No more of this 95 degree and 80% humidity stuff! I can’t wait to test this recipe out!

Thank you Michelle! Oh man, my office is a wreck right now—nothing like the photo, haha.
Hello, Amanda, from BYW 2.0! Thanks for sharing this delicious looking recipe. Looks like something my sons and I can bake over the weekend! I also love the little green and white bowl with your triple berry crisp. What a beautiful contrast. Your blog is gorgeous. Looking forward to following your blogging journey. xoxc
Thank you so much Charmaine! I’m glad you stopped by! :)
I’m another BYW friend. This post is so gorgeous, and I love everything about it! Fantastic fruity photos…and I must try this recipe. I’ve saved your link in my “A+ Blogs” folder!
Thank you Amy! :)
Crisps are one of my favorite things to eat! I could probably live on nothing else and be a very happy woman! I always ask my grandmother to make them but she confuses it with a cobbler (what is the difference, just the crust?)
I like crisps better than cobblers too! I think cobblers have a more doughy, biscuit-like crust while crisps have oats in the crust so they are more chewy and “crispy”.
yum… with some homemade vanilla ice cream?!?!? This crisp is absolutely gorgeous!!!
Hi – I just discovered your website and love it !!!! I live in Raleigh, NC and completely understand the “summer not my favorite season” comment. We have a farmer’s market that I go to and find all kinds of fruits for making good crisps. Great pics. Keep it up !!!!!
