Catching Fireflies

Daniel needed a break after working his butt off on Gears of War 3, so he took last week off and relaxed at home. Last night we wrapped up his week of vacation by catching fireflies, and it was just as much fun as when I was a kid. I definitely recommend filling your own jar!

No fireflies were harmed in the making of this blog post.

I would have loved to see a video of the two of you chasing fireflies! Ahh, to be a child again. You make it happen and good for you.

I googled Scottish midges and they sound terrible! If it makes you feel any better we have about 50 blood sucking mosquitos for every 1 firefly. ;)

I have always considered seeing fireflies the start of summer. I saw some out on saturday night and caught a few in some paper cups before letting them go. Always a fun time ever since i was a child. Awesome pics BTW

Oh, they’re easy to find and catch. At dusk there are hundreds of them hovering a few feet above the ground flashing. It’s really beautiful—almost like little twinkling stars everywhere you look.

My backyard has been full of fireflies! Our boxer likes to run around and try to catch them. He fails so none are hurt but it’s pretty funny to watch!

That’s hilarious! Our dogs seem pretty oblivious to them, although moths are a different story. :)

I love your comments more than I love chocolate (almost).
