I’m going to share some photos from our trip to New Zealand over the next few Fridays. Daniel and I loved it there, and if you like jaw dropping scenery you would too! We rented a campervan from Wilderness (I highly recommend them), drove north from Christchurch and made a big loop around the South Island. We used this guidebook to find secluded spots that we could enjoy all by ourselves, although we did hit some of the bigger touristy locations too. We didn’t make it to the North Island, but I’d love to go back one day and stay longer. Here are some of my favorite shots from our first three days in NZ!
(1 Kaikoura coast, 2–4 Sawcut Gorge, 5 Punakaiki, 6–10 Motukiekie Beach)
Amazing! That’s my dream vacation.
Beautiful! We went to New Zealand on our honeymoon and I can’t wait to go back, we’re thinking 10 year anniversary (only 4 years to go!). I loved Queenstown, if I could bring all my family and friends with me, I’d totally move. :-)
Absolutely beautiful!
Beautiful photos! I love the ones taken in the caves. So great!
Just STUNNING! Friggen A…. You have totally inspired me, adding to the bucket list! :D
Wow! What beautiful photos! My mom made a friend in New Zealand, via selling books on eBay. Her friend sent her a New Zealand calendar and the scenery is just beautiful. So my mom (and now me, after she showed me that calendar) really want to visit there. Definitely a “bucket list” must-do. I’m so glad you had so much fun there and that you specifically went to the areas free of tourists. Those are the areas we’d want to visit too.
Glad you loved your trip and your gorgeous photography makes me homesick. I’m in the UK but NZ is home. Lovely isn’t it…Dad calls it Godszone/God’sown and he’s right! x
Yes! Daniel kept referring to it as “God’s country”—I think He used all His best ideas there! :)
Breath taking photos! Are those done with a wide lense? So glad you had a wonderful time, I definitely want to go visit. Caves, mountains, beaches… what more could you ask for?
Beautiful. We are heading there some time soon. Living in Australia makes getting to NZ relatively easy and it’s so gorgeous! Hope you two had a blast!
These are gorgeous! I especially love the cave one and the flower one! The mood you evoke in your photos is so calming. I love it! I hope you had fun, but looking at these pictures, how could you not?!
Amazing images. Thanks for taking the time to share. I know it’s difficult to take the time to do that when you are traveling. It’s noticed and appreciated.
Looks like where I live in Eastern Canada, just much grander scalewise. XD
I have a feeling you brought some of those stones home. hahaha
Stunning post ~ I have only heard the most amazing things about this part of the world!
Jaw-dropping scenery is right! My husband and I would love to go to New Zealand but when we go, we’d like to stay for 3-4 weeks. Not sure how we’re going to work that one out… I look forward to seeing more of your photos.
Wow, i love this. Your pictures are breathtaking, absolutely wow!
Good gravy, that’s incredible! I am thinking of moving to New Zealand in the future and this makes me want to go all the more. Beautiful photos.

Oh, I love New Zealand. I’ve traveled around both islands for three months back in 2008 and I’d love to go back someday. It’s a good thing you started with the South Island, in my humble opinion it’s the most beautiful one.
3 months, wow! I’m glad we chose wisely! :)
WOW WOW. Truly AMAZING photos of this wonderful country I am so lucky to love in!
You are lucky! :)
