White Christmas on Ukulele

I got a ukulele this summer, and I’ve been having so much fun learning to play. My piano fingers aren’t quite used to all this awkward contorting yet, but I love being able to cuddle up on the couch with my uke instead of perching on a hard piano bench.

I can’t cross “learn to play the ukulele” off my 28 by 29 list without offering up a little proof, so here it is—White Christmas played by yours truly! I even threw in a few puppy-wearing-santa-hat clips, so you don’t get bored watching me strum.

Merry Christmas! I’ll be back to blogging January 2nd.

I got it on amazon.com—they have a bunch for sale. I ended up choosing the Lanikai Pinapple Ukulele.

Love it! Such a sweet video.
Btw, where did you buy your ukelele? Did you take lessons or watch youtube videos? I’m intrigued!

I got it on amazon.com—the Lanikai Pinapple Ukulele. I got the book “Ukulele for Dummies”, which helped a bit with the basics. My husband has played guitar for a long time, so he helped me a lot. In fact, he ended up liking my ukulele so much that he got one too! Now we’re working on a duet. :)

Loved this! I’ve been wanting to learn to play the ukelele for awhile now but haven’t gotten past tuning it. Your video is definitely a great source of inspiration and motivation! Great job and after reading your comment above, I can’t wait to (hopefully!) see your duet! :) Merry Christmas!

In the past I’ve always used Adobe After Effects (which I absolutely love), but since my old software wouldn’t run on my new laptop I had to use iMovie for this video. iMovie is the most terrible and frustrating software I have ever used. Ever. I don’t recommended it at all! I have iMovie 08, so maybe the newer versions are better? I hope so!

Too cute! You might just inspire me to cut my nails short and pick up my acoustic guitar, again. I do miss the cute owl strap! :)

That is so great!! My brother gave me a uke sometime last year, and I’ve been wanting to learn to play it for a while. I’ve decided that 2014 will be my year!!

Did you teach yourself or did you get lessons? How did you learn to play? :)

I love your comments more than I love chocolate (almost).
