Logan’s Trading Company

As a cool weather lover I do a lot of whining when warm weather rolls back around. The spring allergies, the heat, the humidity, the sweating, the mosquitos, I miss my boots, Christmas is so far away, wahhh… But, a visit to the garden shop makes me forget all my warm weather woes! My favorite shop around here is Logan’s Trading Company in downtown Raleigh. It’s huge and awesome. This morning I met my garden savvy parents there. We browsed for hours, and I came home with a carload of new plants for the yard. Take a look at these photos I snapped. Isn’t this place magical?

Your photos are great! I just bought my first SLR camera and it is supposed to arrive today. This post makes me even more excited to get to know it! Also, I have become more and more of a “garden person” as I have gotten older…I used to whine when I was a kid and my mom wanted to peruse the garden section. Now? I HAVE to peruse the garden section regularly. And I have a new-found obsession with succulents.

i love plants! but i have a terrible time keeping them. the only things i haven’t managed to kill are ivy and succulents. which come on, if you kill those, there’s no hope for you. i also have to pick plants i can keep up high, away from my cats. they attack and ruin everything. btw, beautiful photos. i really love both of the purple flowers photos.

I love gardening. Since moving back into my friend’s place earlier this year, her garden is terrible (she’s not a gardener) and I’ve been trying to fix it up… She has all these Australian natives (coz natives are easy to grow here in AU) … but I can’t wait to get my own garden again and start over. That nursery looks so magical… What did you end up getting?

Aww my garden is terrible too! It’s hard to find plants that will grow well in our dense shade and hard clay soil. You are sweet for helping your friend beautify! I got some rhododendrons, hellebore, euphorbia, and coralbells. Can’t wait to get my fingers in the dirt!

I’m off to the garden shop this weekend to get cactus plants for my husband… he keeps getting unwelcome backsides sitting on his desk and his answer was to enlist me to make something with spikes :)

The flowers in photo 6 are pincushion flowers and the flowers in the last photo are two different types of marigolds.

These pictures are so beautiful! I have been to the Seaboard Cafe for lunch, but I have never had a chance to buy any of the beautiful plants from Logan’s. I am planning on attending one of their free planting workshops sometime soon!

Oh man, those pictures have my mouth watering–if that’s possible–it is a garden-thing, though. You should come to Philly some time and check out Anthro’s Terrain!

I love your comments more than I love chocolate (almost).
