Scissor Collection

It has come to my attention that I own a bunch of cute scissors. I’m not sure how or when it happened. I was never consciously aware that I had a thing for scissors, but I must. Why else would I have so many? Over the past few years they have just sprouted up out of no where…

Now that I realize I have a problem I’m cutting myself off. No one needs this many scissors. It’s just ridiculous.

Just call me Amanda Scissorhands.

Have you ever accidentally collected something?

I have those same little gold ones (the bird one and the other)…both from my gram. Don’t think I’m an accidental collector of anything…but a purposeful collector of way too much. Those big blackish ones are delightful! Do you really store them in that flower pot?

Haha! No, I just put them there to illustrate them sprouting up out of nowhere. ;)

  2. Joanna

Hmm if I was it would have to be photos, I find it very hard to delete photos even if I have loads of ones from the same trip haha. Love the little scissors though!xx

I don’t know that I’ve accidentally collected anything but I have bought a vintage teacup and saucer I fancied, only to find when I got home that the pattern name is also my first name. That was pretty cool.

My mother would say, YOU CAN NEVER HAVE TO MANY SCISSORS!!!? She taught me a great respect for scissors and that each pair has a certain use. Ones for sewing, cutting fabric, Paper, cooking, etc. and you stash them all over the house so you alays have a pair handy. God help you if you ever used her sewing scissors for cutting fabric!!!

We are always short of scissors over here. I have a collection of handmade mugs. Every time we travel back home (Europe) I always bring a handmade mug with me.

Oh yes, I totally have a thing for handmade mugs. Can’t get enough!

I’m afraid I have a bit of a scissor fetish. I’m a firm believer that you can never have too many scissors. I think I have more than 20 pairs myself. I really love the gold stork ones you have. I’ve been looking for a pair to add to my collection. Where did you get yours?

Ok well now I don’t feel so bad! ;) I think I got my stork scissors from JoAnn Fabrics.

These scissors are super cute, Amanda! I’m slowly starting to be more conscious about consuming studio supplies and investing in delightful pieces that are both functional and pretty (and slowly weeding out the lesser pretty ones, heh).

  8. Katie B

Oh dear….new obsession alert!!! I have a pair with the bird shaped handles that I have always adored, but now I have a studio space i can see myself hanging up a variety to enjoy, heading to Ebay now!! :)

I accidentally collect everything I find on the sidewalk. What started out as a few pretty stones and pieces of glass has escalated to fill all the window sills in my room. I have rocks, shells, glass, broken pottery, flowers, notes, trinkets, old coins, and (my favorite find) a tiny doll’s head. It might be (probably is) a problem, but it’s all so pretty!
Love the blog, by the way(:

Aprons. I am starting to have a collection of aprons that’s quite accidental -great grandma sewn, husband offered, I fell in love while antiquing… Cooking is my greatest passion, and gorgeous aprons come with the job, I guess. I have eight so far, but each has a cool story behind it :)

I love your comments more than I love chocolate (almost).
