Farmers Market

Today is my mom’s birthday, so I met my family at the State Farmers Market to celebrate with a southern (greasy but delicious) breakfast and a bit of browsing. I brought my camera along so I could practice with the new lens Daniel got from a coworker—my first Canon L lens! First I photographed the heaps of fresh fruits and veggies, but I couldn’t get any shots I was happy with. Before long I got into the groove over in the plant section, which is my favorite part of the market. There’s a huge variety of plants, and they’re so reasonably priced that it’s a little crazy. Thankfully my camera distracted me from trying to take them all home.

Today is my mom’s birthday too! What a great selection of plants! Lovely. I’ll have to get down to my own local market this weekend for sure!

Thanks! Nope, it’s the 17-40mm. I didn’t have any lenses that covered that super wide angle. So, it’s not really very macro (especially on my full-frame camera), but it still has great depth of field at 40mm.

Ohhh, I’m in lust with farmer’s markets. This past weekend I went to one and got to photograph a family of baby geese! <3 These are gorgeous photos, by the way. Congrats on your new lens!

I love your comments more than I love chocolate (almost).
